Mold Tooling Standards
Our network of Tool Shops build molds to existing tool standards and sizes according with DME, DMS, Hasco and others as per the customer's request.  Our mold shops are quite diversified both in size and capacity, so we can always find the right shop for the right mold.

We build a variety of mold styles. Many of our tools use Hot Runner Systems.  We use mainly the standard systems available from specialized companies such as Moldmaster, Husky, DME and Yudo because they are easily available in China.  Other systems can be sourced if specified.

Tool Steel quality has been a problem in the past and still is with some Tool Makers but not with Premier Industries.  The steel that we use (except when otherwise specified from the customer) is imported Swedish, German or Japanese steel that is either AISI or SAE standard.  We are supplied with the Certificates of Quality for the steel and we provide them to our customers.

All molds that require texturing can be done in China and are sent to an outside source for surface finishing according to customers texture specifications.  MoldTech is one of the outside sources in China.

Our Mold Engineers supervise and approve all Mold Tool design presented to our customer.

Talented, experienced engineers for the design of molds and fixtures use the latest CAD software for example:
        Unigraphics
        Pro-Engineer
        SolidWorks
        Mechanical Desktop (AutoCAD)

We provide complete mold layouts in AutoCAD or 3D files.
The Premier Mold Standards are exacting specifications based on the SPI mold standards...
Premier 101
Premier 102
Premier 103
Premier 104
The service life of the mold will be for a minimum 1,000,000 cycles of normal use.
All mold materials will be specified for high-production use.
Detailed mold drawings will be furnished either by Premier or by the customer and the customer will approve all mold designs and design modifications prior to the start of construction.
Holder blocks will have a minimum hardness of 28 HRC.
Molding surface steels will have a minimum hardness of 48 HRC or per customer specification.
All mold sub-assemblies--slides, gibs, wedge blocks, lifters--will be of hardened tool steels.
The mold will have guided ejection.
Slides will have wear plates, or as required by the customer-approved design drawing.
The mold will have parting line locks.
The mold will have adequate channels for temperature control and will feature temperature control provisions in the cavities and cores whenever possible.
Where feasible the cavities and cores will be marked with the steel type and hardness.
The customer's or end-user's name and part number will be stamped onto the mold.
The mold will have eyebolt holes on its designated top side, one above and one below the parting lines, to facilitate mold removal in halves.
The service life of the mold will be for a minimum 1,000,000 cycles of normal use.
All mold materials will be specified for medium- to high-production use, suitable for abrasive materials or for parts requiring tight tolerances.
